Located in the picturesque Hangzhou, a city 180 Km southeast of Shanghai and renowned as a cultural and educational center in China, our organization is a publicly-run institution consisting of HZPTC and HZRTVU. The preparatory work of HZPTC started in 1999, and it was officially founded in February 2009. As a vocational college, HZPTC puts emphasis on the majors concerning urban construction, featuring a rational integration embracing such disciplines as modern service, artistic design, electronic information, economic management, which complement each other for coordinated development. This year, the college offers 18 majors ranging from construction engineering, computer science, decoration design, to such traditional majors as accounting. The total enrolment will be over 5,000 students by September 2010. Besides the priority given to the full-time higher vocational education, our organization gives a simultaneous attention to open education, featuring the running form of One Body with Two Wings. HZRTVU, as the distance center in the city, was officially established in 1978. Currently, it has over 10,000 reistered students, offering over 100 majors. Today, our organization has 467 teaching staff members of whom about 300 are full-time teachers, and more than 100 teachers hold master’s or doctorate degrees and 76 senior or associate senior professional titles. Gaoqiao Campus, the main one among the four campuses, covers an area of 47 hectares with a total floor space of 320,000 square meters. Our organization also boasts sufficient modern facilities for teaching and praxis. In addition, the college library has a collection of over 400,000 volumes of books. Today, HZPTC has established a good praxis tie with several reputed enterprises in China.
